“Daily attendance is one of the most important factors in a student’s academic growth,” said Executive Director of Student, Parent, and Community Support Dawn Maroney. “When students are present, they are learning, growing, and building the foundation for long-term success. These numbers show that our community is committed to making every day count.”
The “Showing Up for Excellence” initiative encourages students and families to prioritize school attendance, recognizing that showing up each day is the first step toward reaching their full potential. Regular attendance is tied to higher academic achievement, stronger social connections, and long-term success beyond high school.
Victoria ISD celebrates the dedication of students, families, and staff who helped launch the school year with such positive momentum. The district looks forward to building on this success in the months ahead.
Let’s keep the momentum going—because showing up is the first step toward excellence.
