Victoria ISD Connections is excited to announce the return of Parent University for the 2025–26 school year, a free and interactive workshop series created to equip parents and guardians with the tools, strategies, and support needed to help their children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Since its launch in October 2024, Parent University has become a valuable community resource, shaped by feedback from families across the district. Each session offers expert guidance on essential parenting topics—ranging from academic support and college planning to literacy, mathematics, and child advocacy.
The first session of the year kicks off on Friday, August 1, will focus on school success and help parents and guardians create structures and routines for a successful start to the school year. Attendees will explore how to create consistent habits and calming routines that promote both academic achievement and emotional well-being.
Future sessions will address a variety of relevant topics, including understanding dyslexia, financial aid and course selection for college, early literacy and foundational math skills, and how families can support Pre-K success and become strong advocates for their children and their community.
All sessions will be held at VISD Connections, 3002 East North Street, Suite J, Victoria, TX 77901.
"Parent University is more than just a series of workshops—it’s a chance for families to come together, learn, and feel empowered to support their children in meaningful ways,” said Lead Student Success Facilitator Stephanie Price-DeLaRosa. “When parents and guardians are engaged and informed, students are more likely to succeed.”
These sessions also offer families the opportunity to connect with other parents, share experiences, and become stronger advocates for their children and their community.
VISD encourages all parents and guardians to attend and take advantage of this free resource.
